Program Description:
Windsor School provides a strong academic program and a structured school environment for students in grades 9 through 12+ with learning and/or behavioral difficulties. We are committed to maintaining the highest standards of learning, to meet the individual student goals, and to prepare each student for the next phase of his/her life. Windsor School offers a college preparatory curriculum in all high school academic areas and assists students with college and post-secondary school admissions.
The Windsor transition program focuses on a person-centered planning approach which helps our students to reach their desired outcomes. It focuses on guiding students to be aware of their strengths, needs, interests and preferences which relate to their employment opportunities and post secondary education. It incorporates independent living skills, community awareness as well as social relationships. Windsor students are given an opportunity to work in a variety of employment fields to introduce them to prospective careers. The Windsor Transition team includes highly qualified professionals such as Certified Employment Specialists, Transition Advisors, and Social Workers. Members of the team meet with each student and his/her family to prepare for high school and life beyond.
