Program Description:
Honor Ridge Academy is a DOE approved private day school for educationally classified students ages 5 to 21, providing a strong academic program including crisis and behavior management to out-of-district placed students for over 40 years. Our philosophy is to provide an emotionally supportive environment where students learn at their own pace according to their individual strengths and needs. They are provided with skills that foster self-esteem and confidence. We provide: complete academic curriculum, small classroom setting, positive based behavior management systems, individual therapeutic counseling for all students, as well as, related services pursuant to the IEP.

The goal of the therapeutic services is to develop and implement an individual treatment plan which helps the student envision the past while moving toward a bright and optimistic future. We provide the following clinical services: Psychiatric Services, as needed, including medication review and management; Individual Pyschotherapy (weekly sessions and additional as needed), Crisis Intervention therapy (based upon need), and Family Therapy – which strengthens behavioral objectives targeted in the individualized plan.

Our behavioral program utilizes a multidisciplinary program that combines student behavioral outcome with programmatic performance. The result is a predictable clinical environment that utilizes the tenets of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) and crisis management to both proactively promote positive behavioral change and effectively deal with the most severe behavioral profiles.
