Program Description:
East Mountain School serves students in grades 7-12 classified as behavioral disabilities/emotionally disturbed. Students can be placed into distinct co-educational programs, each designed to meet the academic and affective needs for both day school and residential students.
The school program is structured into content departmentalized settings with specific placements that include; an academic challenging track, a behavioral/affective needs group, small group-departmentalized settings and an intensive-support, therapeutic-based program. Students are additionally provided with strong clinical counseling support, a structured positive behavior management system and opportunities for extra-curricular programs including sports, technology, theater, yearbook, gardening, community service, and other project-based activities.
Our mission is to provide a safe, challenging, and enriching educational community that is responsive to the individual needs of our students, enabling them to become contributing citizens. High School diplomas are awarded by the student’s school district, upon completion of required credits.
